Occasions to buy flowers

May 13th, 2010

***There are many occasions which warrant the purchasing and sending of flowers and floral displays. Flowers are probably the most popular and often the most convenient gift which can be bought for a huge range of events and anniversaries. Often these events are happy occasions, celebrating a range of experiences which can mark a successful and favourable life. For instance, the marking of a birthday can be one of the most common reasons to receive flowers from friends or family. Birthdays are generally happy occasions and warrant a marking of the special day by the sending of favourite flowers.

Other cheerful happenings which warrant the receiving of flowers can be the celebration of a birth or christening. Pretty long stemmed flowers can be a popular choice to mark a birth. However, as there is the beginning of life to celebrate, there is always the end of lives to commemorate. Funerals can also be one of the most regular occasions when flowers are bought. Marking the end of a life of a friend or family member by floral displays can be not only thoughtful but also very particular to the deceased if bought in favourite colours or themes.

At eflorist we have a huge selection of flowers which range from small tasteful sprays of blooms to large bouquets and floral displays in a range of themes and shapes. Flowers are always a popular choice of gift for both the courting couple and those in established relationships. Flowers can represent a thoughtful act of love or simply a romantic gesture for a last minute gift.

Flowers are always popular to mark other events such as the passing of exams, moving into a new home or even to say ‘I’m sorry’. For any impulsive act of generosity of gift-giving, flowers can always be relied upon to be both pleasing and personal.-

Funeral flowers

May 11th, 2010

***Although flowers are often purchased to celebrate and mark special and happy occasions, floral arrangements are also often bought for less happy events such as wakes and funerals. Expressing sympathy for the death of a loved one or colleague can be done in a fitting and respectful manner by the ordering of flowers that are appropriate for a funeral. The types of flowers most popular for funeral wreaths or flower sprays tend to be lilies or roses though it can also be appropriate to order the deceased’s favourite flowers.

Funeral flowers can come in a wide variety of sizes, styles and colours. Although small sprays of more delicate blooms can be a way of expressing sympathy, many people like to purchase floral displays that are more themed towards the funeral occasion. For instance, flowers can be purchased that have been fashioned into a cross shape or heart shape.
For the funerals of younger people or children, funeral flowers can be bought in the shape of teddy bears or dolls.

Another common flower arrangement for funerals is the use of flowers in the shape of letters which can spell out the deceased’s name or relationship with the flower purchaser. For example, it is a familiar sight to see funeral flowers spelling out legends such as ‘grandfather’, ‘mother’ or ‘sister’.

Often if the deceased had a hobby such as football or a favourite collection theme such as butterflies, flowers can be fashioned to reflect this. Coffin tribute flowers can also be purchased which are designed to be laid on top of the closed coffin. As such these floral arrangements are long and flat allowing for the placement on the coffin lid.

Here at eflorist we have a huge range of bouquets and floral displays which are suitable for a range of occasions including funerals.-
