Generally the basket would have a wide base so that the flowers remain secure inside and there is little chance of the container wobbling or falling over if knocked or bumped.

Another advantage of the ‘flowers in a basket’ arrangement is that generally the baskets have a handle, which allows for the easy transportation of the flowers from the florists to the recipient – ideal if you have to take public transport when you want to present the gift yourself. Often, the baskets will be decorated with a selection of ribbons or foliage in order to enhance the appearance of the floral display.
